Kyle Sampson

Kyle Sampson was former U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales’ chief of staff. He had also been an advisor to John Ashcroft.

Sampson helped create the list of U.S. Attorneys to be fired. Under pressure from Congress, Gonzales said he was going to turn over the emails regarding these firings.

As a result, Sampson resigned.

He joined the firm of Hunton and Williams. As a result, many people have called for both an investigation and boycotts of this firm due to Sampson’s misconduct and, of course, his status as a neocon and promoter of the failed policies of George W. Bush.

Gonzales had wanted to nominate Sampson to be U.S. Attorney for Utah, but ran afoul of Bush. Infighting between neocons is nothing new.

Saudi Arabia

The link between the Saudis and the Neocons is nothing new. Bush and his friends in the oil industry have thrown in their lot with the Saudis.

Of course, places like Russia have oil as well, and this is going to be a problem.

There are plenty of places where you can read about how the Bush Administration sought to protect Saudi Arabia from lawsuits related to 9/11!

But Saudi Arabia has gone even lower…

"ONAIZA, Saudi Arabia, April 12 -- A Saudi Arabian judge has refused to overturn a ruling that declared the arranged marriage of an 8-year-old girl to a 47-year-old man legal, a relative says. The judge, Sheikh Habib Habib, ruled for the second time Saturday in Onaiza that the girl's marriage to a friend of her father's was legal and binding. He said the child wife could file for divorce once she reached puberty. An unnamed relative of the girl told the broadcaster that Habib, who first refused to annul the marriage last year, reconsidered the case upon the girl's mother's appeal. The mother's attorney, Abdullah Jutaili, said the girl's father arranged the marriage with his "close friend" to pay off a monetary debt. The relative said the girl's mother, who is divorced from the father, will continue to seek to overturn the marriage. An appeals court in Riyadh will reportedly consider the case again in a hearing set for next month."

Jon Kyl has defended bonus payments for executives of AIG, bailed out by the Bush administration. Kyl is clearly out of touch with the average American, and he should resign his Senate seat in disgrace.

Kyl did not become a neocon overnight. No, back in 2003, he and John Cornyn sponsored S.887, which sought to tax the attorneys attempting to obtain justice for the victims of 9/11 by suing the Saudi royal family.

Back then, when it suited him, he was all for a retroactive tax. Now the shoe is on the other foot, and he's having an uphill struggle to defend his bailed out friends. Back then, it was quite clear that Kyl was a true friend of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, partial sponsors of one of the worst terrorist attacks in history.

Charles Freeman

This was a close one.

We nearly ended up with a hardcore neocon in the new administration.

Charles Freeman is a longtime supporter of Saudi Arabia. Yes, Saudi Arabia, the nation behind the 9/11 attacks and the Bush family's long time partner in the oil industry. Freeman also sought to defend the Saudi royal family when they were sued for financing the 9/11 attacks!

Charles Freeman is a longtime supporter of China. Yes, China, the nation vying for the world's leader in human rights abuses.

He supposedly speaks Chinese, French, Spanish and Arabic. We're sure the neocons can find another use for him!

Dick Cheney

Dick Cheney needs no introduction as George Bush’s vice president, and Cheney focused the office tightly so that he will be remembered as America’s first “vice president for torture”!

Cheney, like Bush, has a history of drunk driving. He was convicted in 1962 and arrested again in 1963.

Cheney flunked out of Yale, and, like Sarah Palin, who wanted to follow him as neocon vice president for book burning and wolf hunting, he finished his education at a much easier school.

Cheney, despite his shaky background, is rich. He made his money off Halliburton, which was awarded numerous “no compete” contracts related to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Halliburton also moved its headquarters to Dubai to avoid paying taxes.

Andrew Langer

Andrew Langer, like some other prominent neocons, has been affiliated with the Competitive Enterprise Institute. Langer has gone to some lengths to defend the "junk science" babbling of CEI's John Berlau.

Langer left CEI for the National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB).

From there, he has gone on to establish his own neocon "think tank" the oddly named Institute for Liberty (IFL). It is well known that the neocons are opponents of liberty!

Langer ran for office in Maryland and lost.

Langer supported Rudy Giuliani, but when Giuiliani's one word campaign "9-11" wore thin, Langer shifted his support to John McCain.

Langer was fascinated with McCain's poor choice of a running mate, Sarah Palin, and fawned over her.

Langer is a skilled gourmet cook. As such, he should be able to instruct Berlau as to what happens when items are heated!

We think he should stick to that and learn to accept things the way they are. The neocons had their eight year reign of terror, that is over now, hopefully never to return!

Carly Fiorina

Carly Fiorina, like some of her fellow neocons, has the ability to take something good and make something bad out of it.

In her case, it was Hewlett-Packard. Her mismanagement of the company, including the questionable acquisition of Compaq, is legendary.

Fiorina fought with Walter Hewlett, son of co-founder William Hewlett. Under her leadership, Hewlett-Packard’s stock price plummeted. After her departure, it rose, and, due to the hard work of her replacement, Mark Hurd, the company is viable again.

Fiorina also engaged in an illegal espionage campaign against the board of Hewlett‑Packard. This, again, is so typical of the neocons: the excessive abuse of power and authority!

After her departure from Hewlett‑Packard, Fiorina served as an economic advisor on the failed McCain-Palin campaign.

Evan Kohlmann

Evan Kohlmann made a career out of being an expert witness for the prosecution of terrorists during the Bush Administration.

Kohlmann is also affiliated with the NEFA (Nine Eleven, Finding Answers) Foundation, which has some interesting tax angles-the president, M. T. Hayes, is the former wife of David Draper, who provides over $300,000 a year of consulting services to the foundation!

Kohlmann’s expertise, or lack thereof, has come under scrutiny, and the results have resulted in the disqualification of his testimony.

Kohlmann does not speak Arabic. When questioned about this, he said that he was a “close colleague” of several Arabic-speaking academics, such as Dr. Mohammed Hafez of the University of Kansas City. Dr. Hafez, questioned about this, replied with an affidavit stating that this was not true, his contact with Kohlmann had been limited to a few emails.

Kohlmann has never had an article published in a peer reviewed journal. A great deal of his testimony is sensational, filled with images of explosions and Osama bin Laden. He seems to have done a good job of providing neocon propaganda, but, at present his future seems uncertain at best. He does hold a law degree. Maybe he and Alberto Gonzales could open an office together?

Douglas Feith

When George Bush needed a justification to start a war in Iraq, he turned to Doug Feith.

Feith is not a popular man, but he’s popular with a handful of people, the right people during the Bush Administration.

Former Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld, called Feith a “rare talent” and who are we to dispute that?

Feith operated the Pentagon’s Office of Special Plans. What was so special about these plans? Well, they were the plans to manipulate intelligence to justify the invasion and subsequent war in Iraq.

Feith and the Office of Special Plans did something typical of the Bush Administration: they took the truth and made it into lies!

John Cornyn

Texas Senator John Cornyn just doesn't know where to begin-or end!

In 2003, he sponsored S.887. Obscure? Yes. It would have imposed a retroactive tax on lawyers who made money suing tobacco companies.

Now that you know, you're not surprised, as it is well known that the neocons and tobacco companies are very close. But, take another look. Some of these were the same lawyers seeking justice for the victims of 9/11 and their families.

Cornyn wanted to make it impossible for this to happen! S.887 was soundly defeated, but it says a lot about Cornyn that he even tried to do this!

Of course, the record really speaks for itself when it comes to what the Bush Administration did about terrorism! A war in Iraq, based on lies. A war in Afghanistan. No idea where bin Laden might be. The price? One of the worst economic crises in history. Somehow we think Cornyn isn't worrying about foreclosure!

What's Cornyn up to now? The Internet Safety Act, that's what. It would require massive retention of records. You know, Son of Patriot Act. All in the best neocon tradition of erasing liberties and creating a totalitarian state.

Can't Texas do better than this?

Henry Paulson

Henry? Hank? We're not sure but "bailout boy" works just fine.

In the last days of the Bush Administration, Paulson dumped billions, no trillions, of dollars into failing banks.

And look at what they did. Went on executive retreats. Bought new planes. Redecorated their offices.

Accountability? Paulson seems to have forgotten all about that, if he knew what it was to begin with.

Chase will continue to sell debt for pennies on the dollar to people like Mann Bracken, who will break the law to collect as much as they can.

What's with the headphones? Why he's listening to Rush Limbaugh, of course!

John Berlau

He runs something called the "Center for Investors and Entrepreneurs" at the Competitive Enterprise Institute, even though he's never been in business.

The Competitive Enterprise Institute acts libertarian, but it is neocon to the core. The majority of CEI's money comes from oil and tobacco companies.

Berlau will talk about anything at great length to advance neocon causes. One of these is global warming, which he believes is fiction.

Berlau admits to having no scientific training, and it shows! When asked what happens to a gas when it is heated, he stammered and said "maybe it gets heavier?" He's also said, many times, that trees pollute more than cars.

This is one to watch out for!

Lynndie England

Speaking of torture…

She's "torture girl" Lynndie England. She implemented Gonzales' policy of torture while assigned to Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq.

The photographs of her horrific treatment of Iraqi prisoners have turned people around the world against the United States. One can only hope that it will be seen that she did not act for all Americans.

As a convicted felon, she, like Alberto Gonzales, is having trouble finding work.

They call him "torture boy" and with good reason. He, more than anyone else, fought to make torture a part of U.S. policy.

He failed, and had to resign as Attorney General. He has been unable to find a job.

Amazing! At one point, President Bush seemed to want to appoint him to the Supreme Court.

He made other serious mistakes as well. He allowed the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to dupe Haji Bashir Noorzai into coming to the United States. Noorzai thought he would be working with the Americans in Afghanistan. Instead, he was arrested.

Not only does this make Gonzales a liar, but he did grave damage to US-Afghan relations.

To make it even worse, corrupt FBI employees involved in the matter were let off with little more than a slap on the wrist!

George Bush

The worst president in U.S. history.

He started senseless and costly wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. These wars did not result in the capture of Osama bin Laden. They did, however, cause the greatest economic downturn since the Great Depression.

The Bush Presidency will be remembered for failed foreign, domestic, and economic policies as well as efforts to erode if not destroy individual rights.

Just because Bush is gone does not mean that the neocon menace is over. This blog will tell you about neocons-past and present-who still seek to implement neocon objectives worldwide!
